It’s an exciting week for us at The Strand! We will be closed through this Thursday 4/11 for some renovations and most importantly, the installation of the new digital projector. Casey has been working every waking minute to unhook the old projector, move it, rewire the theater for the new system and helping us get the lobby ready to paint. The staff has been in cleaning things we can’t normally get to and prepping the lobby for painting. We hope to start painting the lobby by Tuesday.
Tomorrow the installation crew will arrive. They’re estimating it will take about a day and a half to install the projector so we’re hoping to train on the new equipment Tuesday evening. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly!!
Friday April 12, we will reopen with ‘The Croods’. Doors will open at 6:30 as usual, but the Chamber of Commerce is doing a ribbon cutting at 6pm to help us celebrate. Please join us for the dawn of a new era at The Strand!!!
I hope you don’t lose the quirky charm that makes us love the Strand (along with the cheap date night prices for tix and popcorn!)!!!!
I don’t think we have! We actually made this upgrade in 2013; the movie studios stopped producing 35mm film so it was upgrade or die…
I am unclear by this post. Will you be open tomorrow, Wednesday, June 9th at 2 p.m.?
Thank you
We have a movie every day at 7pm, and also 3pm Sunday & 2pm Wednesday. We’re only closed on the major holidays.
Sounds very exciting for you. We wish you all the best and look forward to many more movie nights with you at the Strand!
